RUGBY SHOWCASE EAST REGISTRATION OPEN
Written By Ad-minion 002
So you're sort of dying to know who will finish on top in the East Coast rankings in 2025? US TOO!
There are 2 frontrunners and 4 in the chase pack. The good news is, they will all be at RSE so in two weeks we should have a much better idea.
A Sprint to the Finish
By now the top teams for 2025 have established themselves pretty well. Raleigh Cobras have continued winning in the South and Doylestown has been dominant further North. While Downingtown fell short against those top 2 squads this Spring, they took down a strong West Pitt last weekend to ensure they get another shot at Doylestown in the PA State Championships next weekend. Morris found its rhythm with a convincing win over Greenwich at home and Aspetuck and West Carroll are looking like squads who might be poised to make a late season run.
The best news is - they will ALL be at RugbyShowcase East on June 7th and 8th in Clinton Twp, NJ with at least a dozen top colleges & universities on hand to watch.
Rugby Showcase East
Event Preview
DAY 1 - EGRL Championships: With only a few weeks before the 5th annual Rugby Showcase East event, the energy is starting to build. On day 1, Morris & Downingtown will revisit their 5-5 Northern division draw (April '25) as one of the highly anticipated semifinal matchups. On the other side of the bracket Doylestown will square up with whoever gets the wildcard spot - either Aspetuck or West Carroll depending on final standings.
But that's not all...
DAY 2 - Settle It On Sunday: Raleigh Cobras have answered the call to travel North and represent the Carolinas at RSE. They hope to settle things on Day 2 in the headliner for the second day in a clash with Doylestown to decide who takes the top spot in the EC.
A little further down the rankings a combined Connecticut side (Greenwich & Southington) and a combined Mid-Atlantic side (North Bay & Virginia Outcasts) will cross paths with some of the best New York has to offer in Corning (#1 in NY), Play Rugby USA (NYC), and possibly a group from Orchard Park (Upstate)
Hudson Catholic (NJ) will send a contingent and we are hearing some rumblings about a group from Massachusetts.
More than a dozen Colleges and Universities have confirmed that they are sending representatives making this, once again, one of the biggest scouting events in the Country for rugby. See the attending teams link for more information.
Wando Takes the Title
Congrats to Wando Wahines who battled all season long and took home the hardware in their division of the NCYRU championships.
Send us your picks or tell us about teams on the EC we might have missed.
There you have it! Check in again in a few months to see where the changes are.
