About The Event

The Territorial Championship is the premier Girls Rugby 15s event in the US bringing together regional representative teams from across the United States. The brainchild of Garrett Fisher and the Mid-West Thunderbirds program circa 2018, the event has blossomed into a major scouting and recruiting event since its inception. The event is held each February (typically President's Day weekend) in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida.

2026 Participants

The 2026 event will feature 5 regional teams, each seeded based on previous results in the event.

The Midwestern regional side, operated by the baby birds subgroup of the Thunderbirds organization, will enter as the first seed having taken the top spot in 2024 & 2025.
The Eastern States, made up of players from the EGRL's central and northern divisions and supplemented by high performing unattached players from non-EGRL clubs in the region will enter as the second seed again in 2026. New this year, players from EGRL's southern division will play for the Southern regional team.
The Western Regional Side, operated by USA Rugby West who is based in Colorado enter the '26 field at 3 after a strong debut showing in 2025.
The Southern Regional Side, operated by USA Rugby South Panthers and includes players from Tennessee to Texas, enters at 4.
New to the event and operated by Loggers Rugby, the Pacific Northwest Regional team enters as the 5th seed.
